Single artwork for Autogramme's No Rules

Autogramm | No Rules

Sythn-driven indie punk from Vancouver trio Autogramm added to the playlist today.

Autogramme is a relatively new band, having formed in 2018, but they’ve been prolific already having released a full-length and a few 7″ inch singles in the short time they have been together. The band members are all members of other bands – you could come up with another full length release by pulling a single track from each of the bands mentioned in their bio and putting out a compilation. They have played extensively, particularly in the US, and are about to release a new album called No Rules on April 16 via US label Nevado Records.

The band describes their sound as “synth-driven, power-pop … drawing influences from the likes of The Cars, The Go Go’s, Gary Numan, 20/20 and Devo”. This track is all high energy: chanted vocals backed by a catchy synth line and a driving drum beat. A good match for previous 2021-a-Day tracks from Lucie, Too with its similar mix of guitars, synths and driving drums and Outtacontroller for its catchy straight-forward punk-rock.
