HIGH/LOW | Slackers

You could be forgiven for thinking that HIGH/LOW (who hail from Southend On Sea, in Essex on the Southwest coast of England) are an American Indie band: they just sound like they should be. A quick check of their influences (their Spotify bio labels the duo as fans of Dinosaur Jr., Superchunk and Weezer) gives an easy explanation for that sound.

This track, Slackers, comes from their January 1, 2021 released album Cyclops, which, according to their website, came out on an unexpected timeline due to COVID. “Initially planned for release pre-lockdown 2020, the band decided to break the album into chunks and release it across 6 EPs, each on a Bandcamp Friday throughout 2020.”
